    Accreditation fees

    For information about cost recovery of accreditation services to aged care homes please refer to our Frequently asked questions.

    Accreditation fees are payable for each residential aged care home. Application fees for re-accreditation of an existing home or previously accredited home are based on the number of allocated places, whether occupied or not. There is a flat fee for applications for a commencing home.

    If the EFT payment is for one home, please type the RACS ID and home name where the online banking screen asks for a description or reference for the transaction.

    If the EFT payment is for several homes, please type the RACS IDs and provider name.

    In all cases, please send a remittance advice identifying each home by its name, RACS ID and the fee being paid, (a sample layout follows) and either email it to finance@aacqa.gov.au or fax it to (02) 9633 2422 "Attention: Finance".

    Please make your cheque payable to 'Australian Aged Care Quality Agency' and write the home's name and RACS ID on the back. If the cheque is for several homes please write the RACS ID and fee being paid for each home and/or send us a remittance advice as described above for EFT payments.

    The fees set for cost recovery of accreditation services represent the best calculation of the total cost to complete the assessment and decision including a proportion of indirect costs to the Quality Agency.

    Discounts to the fee for certain homes

    Homes with less than 25 places will receive a 50% reduction on the above fees. Homes with 1-9 places will pay $3,016; Homes with 10-24 places will pay $5,945.

    Homes classified as receiving a viability supplement for greater than 50% of the last 12 months at the time of notification that their next application for re-accreditation is due will receive a 50% reduction on the above fees.

    Homes that are both less than 25 places and receiving a viability supplement for greater than 50% of the last 12 months at the time of notification that their next application for re-accreditation is due will pay no fees.

    Every month the Department of Health provides the Quality Agency with a list of homes that have received the viability supplement for greater than 50% of the last 12 months. If your home is on the list prior to the email notification that your next application for re-accreditation is due, our email will advise that discounted fees will apply.

    Fees for Commencing homes

    The application fee of $1,140 is the same for all commencing homes, regardless of number of places.

    There is no GST payable.
