    Moving to unannounced re-accreditation audits

    About the introduction of unannounced re-accreditation audits

    To help ensure safe, quality care standards are maintained at all services at all times, announced re-accreditation audits will be replaced with unannounced re-accreditation audits across residential aged care services.

    The new arrangements apply to all residential care services:

    • applying for re-accreditation from 1 July 2018
    • who applied for re-accreditation between 28 March 2018 - 30 June 2018, with an accreditation expiry date on, or after, 1 January 2019.

    Your application for re-accreditation must include your self-assessment against the Accreditation Standards. See Self-assessment for residential aged care services page for more details.
