Understanding quality review
Course aim - key participant skills takeaway
This two day industry focused course aims to provide participants from home care services with an introduction to the aged care regulatory framework, Home Care Common Standards, process, quality review principles and methodology. Participants will develop skills to critically review and contribute to the continuous improvement of their organisation’s provision of care and services and to demonstrate performance against the current Home Care Common Standards.
This course includes a pre-course learning module to complete prior to attending.
Learning outcomes
Through active participation in this course participants will be able to:
- Outline the quality review process for home care services underpinned by the aged care regulatory framework
- Describe the Quality Agency’s assessment principles and methodology
- Contribute effectively to the organisation’s quality management, continuous improvement and risk management systems.
- Describe a quality and consumer focused home care services and outcomes.
- Outline the Home Care Common Standards, expected outcomes and linkages.
- Use the self-assessment process to gather and analyse information to evidence performance or identify opportunities for improvement.
Target audience
This course has been developed for those who want to gain a better understanding of quality reviews, demonstrating performance against the current Home Care Common Standards and improving the quality of care and service delivery within their services.
It is targeted at senior leaders, managers, coordinators and decision makers in home care services / organisations including:

The organisation direct EOI is now open for July to March 2019. Please note: if your service is approaching re-accreditation or quality review this year or in the first six months of 2019 your service will be assessed against the current applicable standards.

Costs for the two day face to face courses is - $5,280 (incl GST) for up to 16 participants, additional travel and accommodation charges will apply for courses held outside the metro area.
